As Software Engineer I was responsible for the full dev-ops lifecycle. Talking to the business and gathering the requirements, designing the application, developing the application and maintaining the application were part of the daily job.

The tech stack used included Docker, Angular, Java 8 (Spring Boot), Git, and Postgres.

After being stuck in traffic in front of open bridges and finding a data set of open bridges in the Netherlands I decided I wanted to develop an app which warns me if a bridge opens up in time so I can change my route. I developed the app and published it on the app store (Java, Swift, and Python).

Cegeka had a lot of resumés of employees and wanted to improve the matching process between the employees and projects. During this project I developed a ‘intelligent matching’ application which scrapes websites for projects and matches the employees with the projects (Python, Docker, and ElasticSearch).

The aim of the Data Science Cell was to provide Data Science solutions for clients based on big data stored in a data warehouse. The primary client was the Dutch government. My responsibility was to maintain the environment and develop the package/libraries for the Data Scientists to use (using python and postgresql), create a short analysis on the data (using pandas) and educate clients to create insights in their data using PowerBI.

The Milsenz is a motion sensor which connects to a proprietary server and gives users real-time information like detected motions by a person of vehicle. During this project I was responsible to improve these sensors, develop the back-end (Python, Marklogic), the front-end (Angular), and a offline Tile Server (using Docker).

KPN developed a platform called the Dataserviceshub. The DataServicesHub is a real-time data transfer platform created by KPN using Kafka and MQTT on public cloud providers. During this project I was responsible for both the pre- sales consulting (creating solution designs) as well as developing the libraries which customers could use to connect to this platform using Python, Kafka, MQTT, and Docker.

During the final stages of graduating University, I started as an intern at NCIM- Groep. I conducted research into various aspects of the Internet of Things. Apart from being a Data Engineer, I enjoy to travel and working out. I am a fitness fanatic and I try to be as fit as possible.
